‘Art and Text’ explores the dynamic relationship between writing and visual art exploring how text and imagery inform and enhance one another. Over 10 weeks, participants will engage in creative exercises that challenge conventional storytelling, poetic expression, and artistic design. Through weekly themes students will develop creative practice of experimenting how words and images communicate their ideas including memoir, typography, comics visual poetry and more! The course will include collaborative activities, sharing circles, and opportunities to experiment with different forms of expression with the support of an instructor and peer group. Whether you're an artist looking to expand into writing or a writer eager to experiment with visual storytelling, this course will provide the tools and inspiration to merge these creative disciplines in exciting and innovative ways.
