Post-Secondary Pathways and Portfolio Development, Ages 14 - 17; Sun, 1 - 4 pm

Description

This course introduces teens who are in grade 9 to 12 the basics of the post secondary pathways one can opt for after high school; programs in apprenticeship, college, and university settings. As well learn about a range of possible careers that involve the visual arts, crafts, new media and design. Participants will develop stronger drawing techniques, while understanding the creative process, compositional strategies and themes suitable to post secondary admissions portfolios. The instructor has taught portfolio courses during her 30 years as a secondary school educator. Margaret also brings insights from teaching at three universities. This course includes one session of figure drawing with a model.
