FULL: Wood Sculpture Studio | Inter | Thurs 9:30am-12:30pm

Description

This studio is intended for students who have some experience in wood carving/sculpture. Lots of one-on-one guidance will be given on improving carving technique, exploring different types of carving such as high and low relief, and 3-dimensional carving of both realistic and abstract subject matter. Throughout the course demonstrations and presentations will be given on various carving techniques, the use of power tools, carving and sharpening of hand tools, and the characteristics of different kinds of wood.
Students are encouraged to bring in any personal wood carving tools they have.
Basswood and basic chisels and gouges will be provided.
Prerequisite: Some basic experience in woodcarving and/or sculpting.

Bien que le cours se déroule en anglais, un suivi individuel en français est possible.
