Textile Arts: Embroidery in the Japanese Tradition | Intro | Sat + Sun | April 27 + 28 | 10am-2:30pm

Description

This workshop will introduce two traditional minimalist Japanese hand-stitching techniques: sashiko and boro. With just a simple running stitch (and a few modern conveniences), students will discover that they can embellish and make beautiful textiles that honour two ancient techniques.
No sewing experience is required: even if you’ve never threaded a needle - this workshop is for you!
All embroidery tools and materials included.
